Sam Allardyce reckons a successful West Ham European campaign could see them struggle in the Premier League.
Interviews on talkSport the former Irons manager claims Slaven Bilic “could run into the same problems I did over the last four years”
Ahead of the game against Birkirkara the sixty-year-old told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show“If West Ham have a very good run in Europe it could have a detrimental effect on their Premier League results.
“If you play more games in Europe, along with the FA Cup and League Cup, you’re going to test the squad.
“I’m not sure the squad is strong and deep enough if they have a long run in Europe. Staying clear of injuries is the most important thing in any manager’s season.
“If not, Slaven Bilic could run into the same problems I did over the last four years.”

if you run into squad problems because of injuries and start to struggle in the league surely Bilic just does what BFS done and throw the cup games.

Well, to be fair he's not wrong.
It's more common than not for a club with European commitments to struggle domestically when they're not used to competing on both fronts over the course of a season.
We'll need to have a certain amount of luck with injuries (dare I say it more than we had over the last 2 seasons) and a bloody deep squad.
We can't expect the likes of Payet, Valencia and Sakho (or any of them for that matter) to play 50-60 odd games effectively without a rest or incurring some injuries.

Allardyce in talking bollocks shocker.
I know it's a lot of games, but it's hardly done the likes of Barcelona any harm winning everything put in front of them and those cunts hardly ever rest their players.
When are they going to realise that playing twice a week really isn't hard for someone who is as fit as a footballer.
And yes an extreme sticking Barca up there, but they are the one team who rarely rests players.

Hold on. Am I fucking missing something here??!!?? Was I abducted by aliens and had my mid erased of West Ham playing European football when Sam Allardyce was manager?
He does say "If you play more games in Europe......" doesn't he? He does then go on to say "Bilic will suffer the same problems I had....." doesn't he?
Well FMOB. Has Sam gone mad or have I? Did we play in Europe under Sam? Please someone help me. I am scared.

Yes, qualifying for Europe is the most terrible news ever and if we get a run in a cup it's going to get even worse.
What if we get injuries? We're the only team who ever get injuries and there's only a paultry 48 days left of the transfer window to plan for improving the squad.
This is a terrible, terrible time to support West Ham. We're going to have to actually play some games of football. We're doomed.
